Dough for homemade empanadas

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 10 g (1 package) yeast
  • 1 tbspn Salt
  • 80 1/3 mL vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbsn sugar
  • 240 mL room temperature water
  • 240 room temperature water (again)

Directions

  • Mix flour, yeast & salt.
  • Add Vegetable oil, sugar, room temperature water then mix.
  • Add the rest of water & keep mixing. Once it begins to form a thick texture take out the dough on a well floured surface.
  • Knead the dough, add pinch fulls of flour and keep kneading for 15 minutes.
  • Let rest for 30 minutes
  • Knead again to remove any air pockets for 10 minutes then let rest for 30 minutes.
  • Roll dough and make circle shapes to make the arepa
  • Oil lightly to coat the pan and add flour to the pan
  • Add the filling of your liking- Im using a super seasoned beef
  • THIS is how they should look completed.
  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes- check on them it might need a little less depending on your oven.
