Chinese idli tadka

Ingredients

  • 1 cup semolina
  • Half cup curd
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp eno fruit salt or baking powder
  • Half tsp baking soda if eno not available
  • Small onion sliced for tadka
  • 1 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
  • 1 packet Chinese chilli masala if available
  • Ketchup and soy sauce optional

Directions

  • Mix curd and semolina with all spices and mix well.rest for 10 minutes.add baking soda and powder if eno unavailable but if eno is here then it’s best to make anything fluffy like bread dhokla,cake or other fluffy dishes
  • Mix well and set a pan add water and set stand in center.pour mixture into small bowls after greasing with oil or idli plates if have.steam for 10 minutes and take out.
  • Otherwise roast cumin and mustard seeds.add ketchup and soy sauce with Chinese masala.add little water and mix well.make a thick masala tadka and add idli cut pieces in this mixture to coat well.
