Pecan Squares

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 6 T brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 T honey
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 T heavy whipping cream
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350. Line 5x7-in baking pan with parchment paper, letting ends extend up sides of pan. Coarsely grate butter into a bowl. Add brown sugar, salt, and flour and beat until light and fluffy. Press onto bottom of prepared pan. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar, honey, sugar, cream and salt; bring to a boil. Cook one minute. Remove from the heat; stir in pecans and vanilla. Pour over crust.
  • Bake 15 minutes.
