Honey-glazed char siu rice bowl

Ingredients

  • 500 g Pork belly or Pork shoulder
  • 2 Spring onion
  • 1 small chunk Ginger
  • 4-5 cloves Garlic
  • 2 Bay leaf
  • 2 Star anise
  • 2-3 Tablespoons Honey
  • Salt
  • Boiled water
  • Seasoning
  • 4 Tablespoons Char siu sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Fermented bean curd sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Oyster sauce
  • 1.5 Tablespoons Rice wine

Directions

  • Pan fried pork, spring onion, garlic and ginger until all meats turn into golden brown on both sides.
  • Add in boiled water and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add in all seasoning, bay leaf and star anise. Stew for 20-25 minutes.
  • When the sauce turns thicker, turn the heat off. Pour in the honey and make sure char siu pork is covered the sauce evenly. Enjoy 😋
