Pepper Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kg Chicken
  • 1/2 tbs Cumin
  • 1/2 tbs Black pepper
  • 1/4 tbs Fennel seeds
  • 300 grams Shallots
  • 1 tbs Ginger and Garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbs Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 tbs turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbs Garam masala
  • 1 handful curry leaves (Optional)
  • 1 handful coriander leaves
  • 2 tbs Cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Salt as per taste

Directions

  • Take a pan heat it dry roast cumin, Black pepper and Fennel seeds for 2 minutes.
  • After the spices have cooled down grind it without water and keep it aside.
  • Cut shallots, Heat oil in the pan add Shallots,followed by ginger garlic paste sauté till the raw smell goes away.
  • Add turmeric powder, Red chilli powder and then Garam Masala powder to the pan and sauté well.
  • Add chicken and let it blend well add 1/2 cup water keep the pan lid closed for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes chicken pieces would have become tender and then add spice powder and mix well.
  • Let it cook for 15 minutes by that time the water will evaporate and pepper chicken will be dry.
  • Add curry leaves and coriander leaves before serving.
