Orange cake

Ingredients

  • 250 gms Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Orange Juice
  • 1 cup Plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
  • Few orange rinds for garnish

Directions

  • Beat the butter and sugar till fluffy and the mixture turns white. add in the eggs and beat for another 2 minutes, add the orange juice and keep aside.
  • Take another bowl. Sieve the pain flour, baking powder and the baking soda. slowly fold in the dry ingredients into your wet ingredients. Mix everything together by cut and fold method.
  • TIP: Don’t over mix the cake dough. Once everything is mixed well check the consistency and in more orange juice if required.
  • Line a cake tin with butter paper. Turn on your oven to 180` degree. Pour the mixture in your cake tin. Garnish with chopped orange rinds. Bake the cake for 35-40 minutes on middle rack.
  • Once the cake is ready. let it cool for about 20 minutes. Serve with hot tea as a evening treat or a dessert with whipped cream garnished with orange rinds after a great meal. Bon appetite !!!
