Simple Quiche

Ingredients

  • 250 g Short Crust Pastry
  • 50 g Bacon
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 75 g Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Eggs
  • 50-100 ml Milk

Directions

  • Turn oven on to 190°C.
  • Lightly flour table. Shape pastry into a circle and roll out to 50p thickness and large enough to line sides and base of foil case.
  • Line foil case with pastry.
  • Trim edges.
  • Prepare filling; peel and chop onion and add to pastry case.
  • Remove the fat frim bacon and cut into small pieces. Add to case.
  • Grate cheese and add to pastry case.
  • Break eggs into a measuring jug and beat lightly with a fork.
  • Add milk to make up to 150ml. Stir to mix with egg.
  • Place foil case on baking tray.
  • Gently pour milk mixture over filling, pausing to allow liquid to find its level. Fill to 1cm from top. [add more milk if needed].
  • Put quiche into oven and bake for 20-30 mins until cooked. It should be set, risen and golden.
